New Collection ‘Summer Seas’

I am excited to announce my new collection of work ‘Summer Seas’ is here! ‘Summer Seas’ explores the fun we have in the sea and also celebrates the wonderful marine life we have living off the UK coastline. I am donating 10% of all profit from this collection to Surfers Against Sewage who are a campaigning charity that inspires, unites and empowers communities to take action to protect oceans, beaches, waves and wildlife.

About me

My name is Joy and I paint from my heart contemporary seascapes and ocean adventures. I create seascapes from fresh perspectives. I am passionate about the ocean environment and all the wonderful wildlife that inhabit this realm. Everything I create is responsible and caring to the environment and I give a donation to an environmental charity with every work sold. Join me for an ocean adventure and let me bring the sea to your wall.

‘Wave of 2020’ Collection

The collection ‘Wave of 2020’ represents the wave of change, the wave that changed our daily lives and by our actions paused how wildlife thrived. Hopefully it was a wake up call as our planet needs time to heal. In this collection I explore the emotions and impact from when the world stood still due to Covid-19, people stopped being able to travel and we went into lockdown, restrictions were set and our daily lives changed. Many beaches around the globe were closed. My work also explores the resilience in each of us to overcome obstacles we face, to be positive and hope for a better future for us all and our planet.

‘Sharing the Surf’ Collection

The ‘Sharing the Surf’ collection explores the positive and peaceful relationship we can have with the marine life that inhabits the world’s oceans. There are seven watercolour paintings in the series from different viewpoints. The marine life that I explore in each painting I have been lucky enough to see in the wild whether surfing or diving or from a boat. I explore how we can peacefully exist together and how we need to undo the damage we have done to their environment together.

I am donating 10% of all profit made on original paintings, prints and art greetings cards to Surfers Against Sewage who are a campaigning charity that inspires, unites and empowers communities to take action to protect oceans, beaches, waves and wildlife.

Artist Support Pledge

I’m taking part in the Artist Support Pledge. ‘Due to COVID-19 pandemic many artists have found themselves without work, teaching, technical support, gallery work, exhibitions, and sales have disappeared. In an attempt to help alleviate some of this stress @matthewburrowsstudio has instigated the #ArtistSupportPledge.’ Matthew Burrows.

The concept is simple. Artists post their work on Instagram under the #artistsupportpledge for no more than £200. When the artist reaches sales of £1000 they will then pledge to buy another artists work for up to £200. In my shop you can access my works that are £200 and under via the category link Artist Support Pledge. This pledge is something I believe in strongly supporting fellow artists at this time. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and other artists at this time.
